Video Content 2
I have three testimonies of transformation: Beth and Phil are a married couple who came to faith from different contexts, and their transformation stories are different. Bryan shares how though being raised in a Christian context he lived a very secular life until God spoke to him.
Response/Action
- What is your own story of transformation?
- As Joyce Meyer (and probably others) remind us, we can get fixated on how far we perceive we have to go in the Christian life of transformation, without realising how far we have come.
- Consider how Paul is realistic but committed to moving forward (Philippians 3:12 – 16).
Prayer ideas
Pick one
- Spirit-Directed Prayer: Read out Galatians 5:22-25, and invite participants to reflect on how the Spirit is transforming them. Pray for greater alignment with the Spirit’s work.
- Freedom Prayer Circle: In small groups, share one way God has brought freedom in their lives and one area they desire freedom. Pray for each other to experience the renewing work of Christ.
- Personal Renewal Commitment: Provide cards for participants to write down one area where they want to grow in alignment with God’s Spirit. Have a communal prayer to lift these commitments to God.
